Physicss AHH please help?
so im trying to do my homework, but its like impossible, any help would be greatly appreciated.
1. an object of mass 7.2 is suspended on string from the ceiling of a moving elevator. Given 9.8 m/s2 for gravity and the string tension 30.456 N, find the elevators acceleration, taking upward acceleration to be possitive and downward to be negative
2. a 1800 kg car moves along a horizontal road at speed v0=13.9 m/s2, the road is wet, so the static friction coefficient is .126, and the kinetic friction is .0882. gravity is 9.8, assume no aerodynamic forces and forward is possitve direction, what is the highest possible deceleration of the car under such conditions in m/s2
3. a 29kg chair initially at rest on a horizontal floor requires 364 N horizontal force to set it in motion, once in motion 338 N horizontal keeps it moving constantly, acceralation of gravity is 9.81, what is the coefficient of static fricion between the chair and the floor, and help is greatly appreciated
))
I'll show you the method. you can plug in the numbers
1) sum of the forces in the veritcal direction = m*a = T - m*g
a = (T - m*g)/m = T/m - g
2) sum of the forces in the horizontal direction = m*a =
m*a = friction
a = friction/m
firction is defined as
friction = N * u
N = m*g
plug those back into a
a = m*g*u/m = g*u
use static friction, because kinetic friction means the cars brakes are locked up and the car is sliding.
3) sum of the forces horizontally = 0
0 = 364 - friction
friction = 364
again
friction = N*u = m*g*u
plug it back into a
m*g*u = 364
u = 364/(m*g)
Artemis Ceiling Fan By Minka Aire
Ceiling fan is a great addition to your home interior design. Not only it serve the main purpose as a cooling system, but it creates an elegant and stylish environment to the room. Choosing the right fan is very important to make sure its compatibility with the surrounding area.
There are several things you need to consider before buying a ceiling fan. The first and most important thing that you should be aware is the size of the fan. This is very crucial as it will determine the safety and comfort of your home. Make sure the ceiling is strong enough for the fan to work. Placing a large fan in a small, cramped room will only increase the chance for it to collapse and endanger your life. On top of that, it can make your room look unbalance and thus, failed to emphasize the charm and beauty to the room.
The next thing to consider is the noise. You definitely do not want to buy a ceiling fan that create lots of unpleasant and distracting noise as it will disturb your sleep or when you rest. This is why you should check the noise rating before you decided to buy any type of fan. If possible, test the fan yourself and check the noise level of the fan. Whatever choice you may make, remember that the less noise it produce, the more convenient it will be for your home.
One of the best modern contemporary ceiling fans is the Artemis Minka Aire. The biggest reason to support this argument is the aerodynamic feature. The organic shape blades are designed to slice through the air with almost no noise and thus, creating a comfortable home environment. Due to this aerodynamic stability, the Artemis ceiling fan can operate with just a minimal force to fully circulate the air in the entire room.
Another great advantage of Artemis ceiling fan is the pre-installed mini halogen lamp. When decorating your house, it is important to install a proper lightning system in order to bring out the charm and warmth to the area. With Minka Aire Artemis, you can save a lot of time and money as you get both fan and light on a single device.
