I am seriously considering a move to the Seattle area in the future, and would like to know of some recommended areas to buy a home (or similar). I would like to find something around $200k ($215k would be the max). I work out of my home, so commuting is not a problem. I would like to have access to decent shopping (i.e. grocery stores, Target, etc.) for day to day shopping, but can make it to Seattle within a reasonable time frame if something else is needed. I've visited Bellevue (really nice, but seems expensive), Bremerton (near the harbor is nice), Silverdale (seems to offer the right mix - near the ferry to get to Seattle and has great day-to-day shopping), and of course Seattle. I do have a young son, so schools are important. We would be OK with living in a residential complex building (e.g. condo towers) since I realize that some land can be expensive.
